The Star Reader's Choice 2023 Official Rules

• To qualify for the Prize Draw, readers must submit at least 2 entries in ALL categories. In addition, you must confirm your votes by verifying the email sent to the email address you provide.
• Independent Newspapers (Pty) Ltd (“The Sponsor”) reserves the right to verify all entries and to eliminate any category for any reason.
• Ballots suspected of “orchestrated” completion will not be counted.
• The Sponsor reserves the right to publish the results of the reader survey, delete questions, or restructure, and to refuse questionable or duplicate entries.
• The use of any automated system to submit entries is prohibited and will result in disqualification of all such entries as well as the Entrant. This includes the use of temporary, disposable email address services.
• Voting in all categories closes at midnight on the 16th February 2024.
• Employees of The Sponsors and their immediate family members may vote, but will not be eligible for any prizes on offer.
• All winners of voter prizes will be randomly drawn from all qualifying entries at the end of March 2024. Winners will be notified by telephone and agree to have their names and photographs published.
• The Sponsor will endeavour to contact the winner/s once every day for 3 consecutive working days after their name is drawn. If the winner/s cannot be contacted during this period, the prize will be forfeited and another winner/s will be selected in accordance with the rules.
• The Winners will be required to provide their names, ID numbers and contact details to sign an acknowledgment of receipt of the prize.
• The Sponsor will not enter into a written or oral discussion regarding the contest, and all entries become property of the Independent Media Group.
• Winners in each category will be determined only by the number of votes received.
• No endorsement by The Sponsor is intended or implied.
